This fiery-looking lance is an interesting item that is temporarily provided to the player for the duration of the quest Flight in the Firelands, in Mount Hyjal. The quest is given by Farden Talonshrike, as part of the quest line related to jousting, which is surprisingly related to the video game, Joust, with a similar theme.
However, there is a method to keep the Twilight Firelance. Since it does normally disappear, you ought to dismount and change your weapon, so that the Twilight Firelance is in your inventory. Having done that, you can now turn in the quest and the lance should remain in your inventory.
Do note that the quest is sometimes bugged and does not finish, if that is the case, follow the directions below:
- Fly to a flag, preferably the lowest one
- Step off your mount
- Log out and log back in
After doing that, the quest should be completed.
