WoW Token
Q:

What if I can't sell my WoW Token over the Auction House?

A:

If you look closely, you'll probably notice two types of WoW Tokens in World of Warcraft. First of all, you have the WoW Token with a "silver background," which is available to you when you purchase a WoW Token with real money. This kind of (silver)item allows you to obtain Gold from the WoW Auction House.

On the other hand, you have the "gold background" WoW Token, which is obtainable if you exchange your hard-earned Gold with a WoW Token from the WoW Auction House. This time around, you could obtain game time when you activate the Golden WoW Token in your account. At the same time, you could gather Battle.net balance instead of the free month previously mentioned.

With these two versions of the WoW Token, although confusing at first, it helps you in the long run. The silver version is only exchangeable with Gold in the WoW Auction House. While the Gold WoW Token, you could either obtain more game time or Balance($15) for the Battle.net Store.

Most noteworthy, you cannot "cross the streams" when it comes to both versions of the WoW Token. Hence, there's no possibility to use the Gold WoW Token over the WoW Auction House. Indeed, the Silver WoW Token only gets you in-game Gold and nothing else.
